Some love stories deserve a sequel. When Russell and Nina Westbrook celebrated their wedding anniversary, we had the privilege of filming a party that carried all the emotion of a wedding day with the ease of a couple who have already proven everything to each other.
Anniversary films are a different craft. There is no ceremony structure to lean on, no schedule of traditions ... just a family, their closest people, and an atmosphere that has to be caught rather than staged. It is pure documentary cinematography, elevated with the same fashion-film language we bring to our weddings.
Working with athletes of Russell's stature means understanding both worlds: the public figure whose image is managed frame by frame, and the private man celebrating with his wife. The film lives in the second world ... and that trust is the real luxury of this work.
