Wedding Videographer in France

French Riviera · Provence · Paris Collections from 15,000 USD

France is where Chromata Films was built. Our founders live and work between the French Riviera and Switzerland, and the coastline between Nice and St-Tropez is not a destination we fly into ... it is the stretch of road we have been filming for nine years. We know which room at which villa holds the last of the evening light, which mayor's office runs late, and which coastal road will be closed the weekend of the Grand Prix.

That local knowledge sits on top of an unusual technical foundation. Before weddings, Kevin Lopez spent a decade in Hollywood visual effects, on films including Star Wars: The Last Jedi, The Great Gatsby, Beauty and the Beast and Avengers: Infinity War. The training that goes into a blockbuster frame ... light, composition, invisible perfectionism ... is what we bring to a French wedding weekend.

Where we film in France

The French Riviera is our home ground: Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild and the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat in St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc at Antibes, Château de la Chèvre d'Or in Èze, Le Beauvallon above the bay of St-Tropez, and the private villas that never appear in a brochure.

Inland and north, we film across Provence ... Château d'Estoublon, the Luberon, the Gordes hills ... and in Paris and the Île-de-France, including private weddings at the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, the palace that inspired Versailles.

What a French wedding weekend actually needs

Most of the celebrations we film in France run three to five days: a welcome dinner, the wedding day itself, a beach or château recovery lunch, and often a party that ends at sunrise. A single-day videography package cannot hold that shape. We build the crew around the schedule, with a licensed drone and FPV pilot cleared to fly in France, and a second unit when two events run at once.

We work in English and French, which matters more than couples expect. Half of a Riviera wedding is coordinated with French vendors, venues and staff; the other half is your family, who may speak neither.

Frequently asked

How do I choose the best wedding videographer in France?

Look for three things. First, real multi-day films from French venues rather than a reel of single-day highlights ... a French wedding weekend has a different rhythm and you want to see that a studio can hold it. Second, aerial permissions: France requires licensed drone operation, and a studio without a cleared pilot will quietly drop those shots. Third, language ... a bilingual crew coordinates with French vendors on your behalf instead of routing everything through your planner. Chromata Films is based between the French Riviera and Geneva, films in English and French, and flies with a licensed aerial cinematographer.

How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost in France?

Our collections start at 15,000 USD. Where a wedding lands above that depends on how many days are filmed, how many camera operators the schedule requires, whether aerial or analog 16mm film is included, and how much of the crew has to travel. Every quote is built for the specific weekend rather than taken from a price list.

Do you film weddings across all of France, or only the Riviera?

All of France. The French Riviera is where we are based and where we film most often, but we work regularly in Provence, Paris and the Île-de-France, and we travel anywhere in the country. There is no travel surcharge hidden in the collection ... it is quoted openly.

Can you film a wedding in France for an international couple?

Yes ... most of our couples are international. We film in English and French, coordinate directly with French venues and vendors, and are used to guests arriving from several continents. We have filmed American, British, Ukrainian, Israeli, Indian and Scandinavian weddings in France.

What do we actually receive at the end?

A feature-length film of the wedding, a shorter highlight film, and a teaser you can share within days of the celebration. Multi-day weddings usually receive a film per major event as well. Everything is colour-graded in the same way a feature would be.
