Wedding Filmmaker in Italy

Italy asks something specific of a wedding film. The country is already cinematic ... the light off Lake Como at seven in the evening, a Positano staircase, a Puglian masseria at dusk ... and the temptation is to let the scenery do the work. The films that last do the opposite: they use all that beauty as a background for the people standing in front of it.

We have been filming Italian weddings for years, most often on Lake Como, where we have worked at Villa Erba, Villa Balbiano and Villa Bonomi, and along the Amalfi Coast. Our base on the French Riviera puts us a few hours from northern Italy by road.

Lake Como is the region we know best ... Villa Erba, Villa Balbiano, Villa Bonomi, Villa del Balbianello and the private estates around Cernobbio and Bellagio. On the Amalfi Coast we have filmed in Positano and the surrounding towns. We also work in Puglia, Tuscany, Venice and Lake Garda.

Italian venues frequently sit at the top of long private staircases with a 30-minute drive between ceremony and reception. Our crews plan around that rather than discovering it on the day.

A large share of the Italian weddings we film run three to five days across several religious and cultural traditions ... a Sangeet on one night, a Mehndi the next, a ceremony and a black-tie reception after that. We have filmed Indian celebrations at Villa Erba and Villa Bonomi, Jewish ceremonies in Provence and Italy, and mixed-religion weddings where two officiants share a chuppah.

These weekends need a bigger crew and a director who has done it before. Ceremonies do not pause for a camera to reposition, and the moments that matter most are frequently the least photogenic ones.

How do I find the best wedding filmmaker in Italy?

Start with venue-specific work. Lake Como, the Amalfi Coast and Puglia each present different problems ... boat logistics, cliff staircases, extreme heat ... and a studio that has filmed at your venue will show you rather than tell you. How much does a wedding videographer cost in Italy?

Our collections start at 15,000 USD, with the final quote shaped by the number of days, the crew size the schedule demands, and travel. Multi-day Italian weddings with several cultural events usually need a larger team than a single-day celebration.

Do you film Indian weddings in Italy?

Yes. We have filmed Indian celebrations on Lake Como across multiple days and venues, including Sangeet nights and ceremonies at Villa Erba and Villa Bonomi. Multi-day, multi-tradition weddings are a large part of what the studio does.

Are you based in Italy?

We are based between the French Riviera and Geneva, which is a few hours by road from Lake Como and northern Italy. In practice that means we scout in person, arrive rested, and are not paying long-haul travel costs that end up in your quote.

Can you fly a drone at Italian wedding venues?

Our aerial cinematographer holds licences covering Italy. Some Italian venues and protected areas restrict drone flight regardless of licensing ... we check the specific venue before you book and tell you honestly what is possible.
